Where did Noah build the Ark? Was it in a desert or near water?

Where did Noah build the Ark? Was it in a desert or near water?

The biblical god commanded and/or condoned the worst crimes known to mankind: slavery, sex slavery, infanticide, matricide, ethnic cleansing, genocide, and the ghastly stoning to death of boys for being stubborn and of girls for being raped or not bleeding sufficiently on their wedding nights to prove their virginity. The real Creator would have known that all girls don’t bleed the first time they have sex, so this was a false god. And why did this false god not know that stoning girls to death for being raped was the height of all evil? When girls are stoned to death in Muslim nations for the “sin” of being raped, many Christians call Islam a “false religion” but the satanic book of Deuteronomy commands the same thing in chapter 22, along with the ghastly stonings of children for misdemeanors and non-sins.

And let’s not forget that the animals were on the ark for a year, according to the Bible.

Only the writer of Matthew mentioned the massacre of the innocents, another indication of a fabrication.

What is the most inappropriate experience you have had with a friend's daughter?

The biblical story of a Great Flood and Noah’s Ark is not remotely plausible, for the following reasons:

The Bible predicted that Nebuchadnezzar would sack Tyre and Egypt, neither of which happened. The prophet — Ezekiel if I remember correctly — admitted his error in the first case, then issued a new false prophecy about Egypt!

FALSE PROPHECIES

Why does an older married man turn bisexual?

There are two conflicting creation accounts in the opening chapters of Genesis. In the first chapter of Genesis, the animals were created before human beings, who were created last, male and female, together. However, in the second chapter, Adam was created before the animals, who were brought to Adam for him to name, and Eve was created last, from one of Adam’s ribs. (Genesis 2:18-22)

Most amusingly, after going on for three fiery chapters (Ezekiel 26-28) about all the terrible things the “Sovereign Lord” was going to do to Tyre, the false prophet finally admitted his mistake: “Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon drove his army in a hard campaign against Tyre; every head was rubbed bare and every shoulder made raw. Yet he and his army got no reward from the campaign he led against Tyre. Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am going to give Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will carry off its wealth. He will loot and plunder the land as pay for his army. I have given him Egypt as a reward for his efforts because he and his army did it for me, declares the Sovereign Lord. On that day I will make a horn grow for the Israelites, and I will open your mouth among them. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”

If memory serves me the ark had only one window. If anyone has ever been in a barn full of animals, even a clean one, will know how strong the stench of urine will be. And then there will be the bugs.

There was no worldwide flood that covered the highest mountains. Geology, archeology, science and common sense tell us such a flood never happened.

Bible apologists claim there would be only be a few hundred “feet” of extra water, but it would take five additional miles of water to cover the highest mountains. That would create incalculable water pressure on the saltwater fish in their zany theory. Mount Ararat, where the Bible says the ark landed, is 16,854 feet high, or 3.2 miles high, and there are much taller mountains.

The biblical god murdered Adam and Eve on false charges, since he had denied them the knowledge of good and evil, meaning they couldn’t know that it was “wrong” to eat the forbidden fruit.

Is it true that most people in Québec are bilingual in French and English? If so, why do they often identify as monolingual?

Arctic and tropical animals cannot live in the same ark for a year. Any zookeeper will tell you that you will need radically different habitats to keep arctic, jungle and desert animals alive. An ark sealed with pitch cannot keep thousands of different animals from radically different regions of the earth alive for a year.

The Genesis creation account says human life began in the Middle East but archeology and the fossil record confirm that human beings evolved in Africa and spread out from there over tens to hundreds of thousands of years, depending on where they ended up.

Social Security June payment schedule: Here’s when recipients will get their checks - LiveNOW from FOX

The Bible says Jesus visited Tyre, where he healed the Canaanite (Syrophoenician) woman's daughter. (Matthew 15:21-28; Mark 7:24-31)

DNA disproves the Great Flood. If only eight human beings survived around 4,400 years ago, we would all be related to those eight individuals, but there is a LOT more diversity in human DNA. And the same would be true for all the animals, as well. Both human and animal DNA disprove the Great Flood fairy tale. The Bible says, comically, that 4,400 years ago there were only eight people on earth, all living in western Turkey on Mount Ararat, meaning that we can all trace our DNA back to Noah and his wife. But genetics tell us that we can actually trace our DNA back hundreds of thousands of years to early humans living in South Africa, not Turkey.

I could go on and on, but you get the picture. The biblical god was a monster, not “good.” Why is that? Because the writers of the Bible claimed that their god controlled nature, and nature is cruel and pitiless. Any god who controls nature will automatically be a cruel, wildly unjust and merciless killer. The ancients tried to explain natural disasters as the “wrath” of god, but Christians would have a hard time imagining Jesus mass-murdering children, infants, babies and unborns. And yet they say Jesus is “one” with the murderous biblical god, proving their religion is based on ancient lies and unresolvable contradictions. If Jesus is “one” with the biblical god, and this god authored the Bible, that clearly means Jesus either authored the Bible’s evil commandments and participated in all the murders of animals, babies and unborns, or that he approved of such commandments and murders, making him complicit and an accessory.

Josephus was the son of one of Israel’s most important rabbinical families, and he was a student of the main sects of Judaism. The tiny entry about Jesus in his writings was clearly added by Christian charlatans after the fact, an obvious forgery. If Josephus had really thought Jesus was the Messiah, he would have written a LOT more about Jesus than he did about much lesser figures. What we have is like a historian giving George Washington and Abraham Lincoln a sentence each, then going on and on about Millard Fillmore and Al Gore. That makes absolutely no sense. Josephus grew up in Jerusalem shortly after the alleged crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, but he was unaware of what supposedly happened in his own backyard, and he didn’t mention the apostles healing people with their shadows, or anything else about the miracle-working Christian church that would have been operating in Jerusalem during his childhood. So obviously all that “miracle” nonsense was made up later.

The Bible says there were giants in Palestine, the Nephilim, but no bones of such giants have ever been found there. Then the Bible says all the giants were destroyed by the Great Flood, which wiped out every human being and animal not on Noah’s ark, and yet the giants reappeared in the Bible long after the time of Noah. How is that possible, and where are the bones?

The story of Jesus's birth could not have happened as described in the Bible. The first census of Judea happened long after King Herod died. And the story of Herod massacring babies is obviously mythological. It never happened or historians like Flavius Josephus, who wrote about Herod, would have mentioned it.

What does a passable feminine crossdresser look like?

There was no global flood, and thus no gigantic ark.

Clearly, the “big fish” story kept getting bigger and bigger. If Jesus really flew into the clouds like Superman, with angels preaching a sermon, all four gospels and the book of Acts would agree. And Paul, who was trying to convince the world that Jesus was the Messiah, could not have failed to mention the most amazing thing human eyes ever witnessed. But only one Bible author (or, more likely, a dishonest copyist), knew anything about the most amazing thing in human history.

A global flood that covered the highest mountains would have killed all the fish. As fishermen know, freshwater fish cannot live in the sea and saltwater fish cannot live in fresh water. This is why we don’t have Great White Sharks in freshwater rivers and lakes. A global flood that merged the rivers and lakes with the seas would have killed all the freshwater fish in the early stages because there’s a lot more salt water than fresh water. But then as the massive rains diluted the seas, all the saltwater fish would have died. Then, because salting earth poisons the land for vegetation, as the excess water evaporated (where did it go?), all the land would have been coated in salt, making plant life impossible. Thus all the animals on the ark would have starved to death. A global flood would have killed all the fish and left the land poisoned by a residue of salt for generations.

The Bible says stars are tiny pinpricks of light that can fall to earth.

The biblical god became a mass abortionist by murdering every pregnant woman and all the unborns during the Great Flood.

The Bible says the Israelites were slaves in Egypt, then escaped in immense numbers and wandered for 40 years in a narrow strip of desert, but there is no evidence that the Israelites were slaves in Egypt in large numbers, or that an immense number of people wandered in the Sinai Desert for 40 years. Exodus 12:37 says “about 600,000” Hebrew men left Egypt in the Exodus. That would be 2-3 million people including women and children. For 2-3 million people to wander in a fairly small region for 40 years and leave no trace is not possible. And that many people could not have lived with so little food and water for 40 years.

Great Flood believers sometimes claim the flood occured when Pangea was a single continent and that all the extra water came from water locked in rocks. But that solves nothing. As I pointed out above, if at any time the lakes and rivers of ANY land mass joined with the seas, all the freshwater fish would die, as any fisherman can confirm. Then as the seas grew massively dilute due to all the extra water, regardless of where it came from, all the saltwater fish would have died. This is just common sense and doesn’t require an advanced degree. Do believers in the Great Flood lack common sense?

There was no Roman census at the time of Jesus’s alleged birth.

The proofs that a global flood never happened are many, and incredibly simple…

Patti LuPone stuns Broadway as The Apologizer - AV Club

Pat Brown:

I’ve cleaned stables, up to 21 in an 8 hour day every day. That was around 30 animals during foaling season. No matter how hard the stalls were cleaned they still carried that smell. Urine rots wood over time.

Genesis 1:20 says birds were brought forth by the water and before the land animals, but Genesis 2:19 says birds were brought forth from the ground and with the land animals. This is a very clear contradiction. The idea that the Bible is “infallible” and the “word of God” is blown apart by such obvious, inescapable contradictions.

Have you ever had your crush reject you, and then later you all dated and married?

The biblical god became the first murderer when he slaughtered animals to give their skins to Adam and Eve for clothes. Why didn’t Jehovah use his superpowers to give them clothes of nonlethal fibers like cotton or wool?

The extensively doctored texts that became the New Testament are full of fabrications:

Unless God is feminine, Eve was not created in God’s image. The most likely explanation is that the original story had male and female gods, but the gods other than Jehovah were eliminated when the ancient Hebrews became monotheists. This would explain terms like “our image” and “our likeness.”

Do guys prefer big boobs or small boobs? Why?

First the false prophet said Nebuchadnezzar would sack and destroy Tyre, and that it would never be rebuilt: “I will make you a bare rock, and you will become a place to spread fishnets. You will never be rebuilt, for I the Lord have spoken, declares the Sovereign Lord. (Ezekiel 26:14)

Despite his flop of a prediction, Ezekiel confidently predicted that Egypt would become a desolate wasteland at the hands of Nebuchadnezzar: “Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will bring a sword against you and kill both man and beast. Egypt will become a desolate wasteland. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”

The Bible says the earth is flat and sits on fixed foundations that make it “unmoveable.”

Christians love to say that the New Testament is “better” than the Old Testament — that once god had been “pleased” by the gruesome sacrifice of his son, he was a loving, compassionate, merciful “Heavenly Father” and someone for Christians to “love” and worship. But nothing could be more false. In fact the New Testament is worse than the Old Testament because it clumsily stitches in the pagan concept of an “eternal hell” where people are tortured with infinite cruelty, to no purpose, for all eternity. The Old Testament, as terrible as it was, never mentions “hell” or any possibility of suffering after death. A decent human being would not torture another human being for a second, much less all eternity. What would be the purpose of such torture? And the occult book of Revelation says Jesus will personally murder children for their mother’s sins, in the second chapter, after which Jesus will slaughter trillions of animals and billions of human beings (a third of all land life and sea life). By the time Revelation was written, full of wild errors and contradictions of the idea that Jesus is in any way loving, compassionate or just, the transformation of Jesus from a good man to an infinitely evil “god” was complete.

The Bible has “prophecies” that can never come true, such as the ones about Nebuchadnezzar sacking Tyre and Egypt, which never happened and never can happen. The prophet in question, Ezekiel or someone pretending to be Ezekiel, even admitted his mistake about Tyre, then issued a second false prophecy about Egypt!

FABRICATIONS

I could go on and on and on, but you get the picture.

Ditto also for plants, which could not survive for a year under such tremendous pressure, not to mention all the salt, which poisons land for most vegetation. It would take many, many years for trees to regrow, even if their seeds somehow survived, and what would happen to all the animals that depend on trees for food and protection in the meantime? Giraffes and woodpeckers would starve to death. Monkeys and apes would be unable to evade predators. And so on.

The biblical god cruelly drowned all the innocent animals in the Great Flood, for no reason at all, since Noah got drunk, engaged in some sort of perversion with his son, and the world was quickly the same as it had been before.

And why, pray tell, would an all-powerful “god” be so unfathomably cruel to trillions of animals? We would consider someone a sick puppy for drowning a single kitten. Look at the uproar over Kristi Noem shooting her puppy Cricket. Why didn’t an all-powerful “god” just snap his fingers and get rid of the “wicked” or send a human-only disease and spare the animals?

Nor did human beings have “dominion” over all other creatures. The ancients had no “dominion” over bacteria and viruses, no “dominion” over disease-carrying mosquitoes and tsetse flies, no “dominion” over deep sea creatures, etc.

The predators would kill all the prey animals, or the predators would starve to death.

If this god controls nature, as Christians claim, he is by far the greatest abortionist of all time. Even today unborns die in floods and other natural disasters. If abortion is a sin, as millions of Christians claim, why doesn’t an all-just god spare babies and unborns who are incapable of sin because they lack the knowledge of good and evil? Why doesn’t this wildly unjust god spare children who have not reached the age of accountability?

What happened to the dinosaurs? According to biblical chronologies, if the Bible is accurate (it’s not), the Great Flood would have happened around 4,400 years ago. But we know dinosaurs became extinct millions of years before human beings walked the earth.

I could go on and on, but science and archeology prove there never was a global flood.

The same is true for other social insects like ants (more than 12,000 species) and termites.

by Michael R. Burch

Archeology disproves the Great Flood fairy tale. If a global flood had covered the highest mountains around 4,400 years ago, or 2,350 BC (according to biblical chronologies), the unfathomable water pressure would have disintegrated everything destructible on the sea floor. That’s an additional 5.5 miles of water, above current sea levels. And yet we have the ruins of ancient cities like Jericho and Byblos, with mud brick dwellings that could not possibly have survived such immense pressure, that are over 10,000 years old.

The Bible says the evangelist Paul also visited Tyre, where he met with his disciples and stayed with them for seven days. (Acts 21: 3-6)

There is not nearly enough water on earth to cover the highest mountains (5.5 miles of water).

OBSERVATIONS FROM THE COMMENTS

The story of Jesus's birth could not have happened as described in the Bible. The first census of Judea happened long after King Herod died. And the story of Herod massacring babies is obviously mythological. It never happened or historians like Flavius Josephus, who wrote about Herod, would have mentioned it.

What would PETA and various societies for the prevention of cruelty to animals say about a human being who drowned a dog or cat, much less trillions of animals?

Bible apologists claim that the fresh water and salt water would not have “mingled” because in a very sedate test tube experiment, the salt water goes to the bottom of the tube, being heavier than the fresh water. But if all the salt water sank to the bottom of the ocean and didn’t mingle, the immense pressure of miles of fresh water above would have crushed all the saltwater fish to smithereens. In this scenario there would have been freshwater fish but no saltwater fish. However, this “theory” makes no sense because immense quantities of fresh water flow into the sea every day, under far less traumatic circumstances than a global flood, and the fresh water does mingle with the salt water. So this very “still” lab experiment does not apply. Slosh the water around, stir things up a bit, and you will see the real world results, as the salt becomes distributed throughout the test tube.

For instance, Herod the Great died in 4 BCE and could not have tried to kill a baby who had not yet been born.

The following facts of archeology, geology and science prove the Bible isn’t “infallible” or “inerrant” or any more “true” or accurate than other ancient myths like those of Zeus and Odin:

For those who want to know the truth, buy an inexpensive Bible and a packet of highlighters, then start at the beginning and highlight everything you would not do or say yourself, nor recommend to a child. You will soon have a VERY colorful book. And why shoot the messengers, when they just report what the Bible actually says, so clearly?

As any beekeeper knows, a queen and drone cannot feed themselves or baby bees. It takes a whole hive to support one queen. This is why bees swarm when a new queen is born.

The first chapter of Genesis says: “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” (Genesis 1:26-27) However, in the second chapter Adam and Eve were not created at the same time, nor was Eve created in the image of God, but she was created in Adam’s image from one of his ribs. The writer of the second account was clearly trying to make Eve inferior and subservient to Adam.

Genesis 1:14-19 says the earth existed before the sun, moon and stars, which were all created at the same time. But this is impossible because the earth needs the sun to orbit, while the moon needs both the sun and earth. Thus the correct order of creation is: the oldest stars first around 14 billion years ago, then our sun around 4.6 billion years ago, then the earth around 4.54 billion years ago, then the moon around 4.53 billion years ago. Job 38:4-7 says the morning stars sang together when God created the foundations of the earth, but Genesis 1:14-19 says the stars were not created until the fourth day, after the earth, land, seas and plant life. So the stars could not have sang when the foundations of the earth were laid, and of course the earth has no foundations. The ancient Hebrews who wrote the Bible thought the earth was a flat object, set on solid pillars that kept it from being moved, with a solid dome above it in which the sun, moon and stars were set like tiny lights in a chandelier. This solid dome (the firmament) held back the rain waters. The writers of the Bible clearly thought that stars were tiny lights that could “fall” to earth and such verses are in the Bible. The Bible’s authors were wrong about everything to do with such things, and obviously did not get the creation account from the Creator, but made it up.

Nothing could be further from the truth, because:

The biblical god sentenced all the innocent animals to suffer and die, even though they didn’t eat the forbidden fruit or gain the knowledge of good and evil. According to the logic of Genesis, the animals should have remained immortal and should not have been forced to start killing each other in savage, horrendous ways.

The apostle Paul knew nothing about a virgin birth, or the massacre of the innocents, or the earthly “miracles” of Jesus, or the “miracles” at the grave other than the alleged resurrection, or Jesus flying into the clouds like Superman at the loopy “ascension.”

The biblical god preferred the blood of animals to sacrifices of grain. What a bloodthirsty god, like a voodoo god! Jehovah was never happy unless some poor animal was being slaughtered as a sacrifice.

Mayflies cannot migrate from other continents to the Middle East because they don’t live long enough. Ditto for snails, slugs, etc. Snails cannot migrate from other continents to the Middle East because they’re too slow to make it and also can’t swim. Also some land snails dissolve and die when exposed to salt! The idea of tiny, short-lived land creatures making it across immense oceans and deserts to trundle onto an ark in the Middle East is beyond preposterous.

Nor did Herod massacre babies, or the historian Flavius Josephus, who wrote about Herod, would have mentioned such an outrage.

The Bible says the sun circles the earth, a common misconception in ancient times. The real Creator would have known better and thus the real God, if such a being exists, could not have authored the Bible.

Very impressive, except that Nebuchadnezzar did not sack or destroy Tyre, and the Bible itself makes this a false prophecy three times!

Obviously, kangaroos cannot hop across the ocean from Australia to the Middle East, then back again when the flood is over.

The following facts of archeology, geology and science prove the Bible isn’t “infallible” or “inerrant” or any more “true” or accurate than other ancient myths like those of Zeus and Odin:

The Bible predicted that Nebuchadnezzar would sack Tyre and Egypt, leaving them both uninhabited, neither of which happened. The prophet, Ezekiel or someone pretending to be Ezekiel, admitted his error in the first case, then issued a new false prophecy about Egypt! The false prophet said Tyre would be completely destroyed and would never be rebuilt, but the New Testament says both Jesus and Paul visited Tyre during their ministries.

What would have happened after the animals disembarked the ark? It would have been sheer mayhem for surviving prey animals that lacked the protection of large herds, woodlands, brush, etc. There would have been nowhere to hide from the predators, on a barren moonscape. Monkey would have no defense against predators without trees. Birds would have to nest on the ground, where they would have been sitting ducks, pardon the pun.

The biblical story of a worldwide flood that covered the highest mountains is not scientifically plausible, nor does it pass the tests of common sense, geology and history. Nor does it pass the test of ethics on the part of a wise, just, enlightened God.

The single biggest lie Christians tell about the Bible is that the biblical god was “good.”

What did lions and tigers eat for a year while on the ark? They would have had to eat the other animals to avoid starvation. The ark fairytale does not account for predators killing the other animals right and left. Lions and tigers have to eat enormous amounts of food to survive for a year.

What happened to the animals’ waste in an ark sealed with pitch? The pitch that sealed out the rain would seal in the lethal fumes. Imagine breathing the fumes from the feces and urine of all those animals for a year, or even a few days, in an ark sealed with pitch!

Ditto for ancient pottery that is far older than the oldest cities. Fragile pottery could not have survived the Great Flood. And yet we have ancient pottery dating back to around 25,000 years ago, such as the Venus of Dolní Věstonice, discovered in Moravia (in the modern-day Czech Republic).

There was no worldwide flood that covered the highest mountains. Geology, archeology, science and common sense tell us such a flood never happened. The story of a Great Flood and Noah’s Ark is complete and utter nonsense. Noah was a farmer who saved a goat and a few chickens on a hastily-constructed raft when his low-lying field flooded. Over time the “big fish” story grew and grew, to epic proportions.

by Michael R. Burch

OTHER BIBLE ERRORS AND CONTRADICTIONS

Where did all the water go, when the flood was over?

The hibernation theory doesn’t hold water, pardon the pun. Even if “god” put all the animals to sleep for a year, the same problem would exist when the animals woke up. The predators would kill all the prey animals before they had time to breed and gestate.

But amusingly that also never happened, so how do we know that the biblical “god” is the “Lord”?

“No mountain” theorists must not believe the Holy Bible, since it says there were “high mountains” before the Great Flood (Genesis 7:19) and that the ark landed “on the mountains of Ararat.” (Genesis 8:4) That is plural mountains. Mount Ararat itself is 3.2 miles high. The Holy Bible says the waters covered the tops of mountains by 15 cubits. That’s another 300 feet. The earth has never had that much water. Those who say there were no high mountains dispute the word of God!

Genesis 1:11 says trees and plants grew on earth before the sun was created. That is obviously impossible. The ancient Hebrews did not understand that without the sun’s gravity and heat the earth would have been an icy asteroid hurtling through deep space with a surface temperature a few degrees above absolute zero. Nothing could have grown on the earth’s surface. Not a blade of grass, much less trees. The earth’s polar regions receive sunlight and are far warmer than absolute zero, but no trees grow there, so obviously trees could not have grown on a sunless, frigid earth. And of course trees and other plants require sunlight for photosynthesis.

But perhaps the loopiest thing about the very loopy New Testament is that the author of Acts said the resurrected Jesus spent 40 days in Jerusalem, telling around 100 of his followers the secrets of the kingdom of God, and yet not one of them bothered to write down anything he said! If you knew that you were listening to the resurrected God wouldn’t you be sure to faithfully communicate everything that he told you? But the author of Acts (or the charlatan copyist who made up the 40 day vigil) didn’t bother to record a word! Who can believe such nonsense?

Noah was a farmer who saved his family and a few farm animals from a local flood on a raft or barge. Over time the “big fish” story grew and grew to biblical proportions, if you’ll pardon the puns.

The Bible says in multiple verses that there were giants in Palestine, but no bones of giants have ever been found there.

Mike Burch:

Geology disproves the Great Flood. There is no evidence of a Great Flood that covered the highest mountains at any point in time, much less around 4,400 years ago, according to biblical chronologies.

Genesis 1:6 says God created a solid firmament — a sort of crystal dome — to hold back the rain water. Why? Because the ancient Hebrews did not understand evaporation and thought rain water must be retained in some sort of reservoir above the visible sky, until it was released by the hand of their Sky God aka Jehovah.

Thousands of animals in an enclosed space with nearly zero moving air? The ark would have been a toxic stew inside of days. No way a handful of people could have kept a floating zoo clean. Those animals would have had their lungs burned out long before the 40 days were up.

It is very possible that someone like Noah rode out a local flood on a raft or barge of some sort. It is not possible that the oceans covered the highest mountains and eight people and a menagerie of animals survived for a year in a wooden ark sealed with pitch. The fumes of so many animals urinating and defecating in an airtight boat would have killed everyone aboard within a few days!

The Bible says all the giants were destroyed by the Great Flood, which wiped out every human being and animal not on Noah’s ark, and yet the giants reappeared in the Bible long after the time of Noah. How is that possible? But of course there were no giants as a race, just a person here and there who was taller than average, as today.
